Ted's Woodworking Review (2026): What the 16,000-Plan Library Costs and Includes

Disclosure: Nook21 may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. Our reviews are research-based; here's how we work.

TL;DR

Ted's Woodworking is a digital library of woodworking plans (the vendor claims 16,000+) sold through ClickBank for a one-time $67 at checkout when we checked on October 9, 2026, with optional add-ons and further offers after purchase. The vendor advertises a 60-day money-back guarantee. It is a broad, low-cost idea library with uneven plan quality, so it suits regular builders more than complete beginners.

Our verdict: A cheap, very broad plan library worth trying only if you will check the plans critically within the 60-day refund window.

What Ted's Woodworking is

Ted's Woodworking (sold as TedsWoodworking) is a digital library of woodworking plans sold through ClickBank. The vendor presents it as one of the largest plan collections available to hobbyists, with a headline figure of more than 16,000 plans spread across over 100 categories. You pay once at checkout and get access to an online members area where plans can be browsed, downloaded and printed.

The product has been on the ClickBank marketplace for many years, which explains two things you will notice quickly when researching it. First, a lot of the web pages that mention it are affiliate pages, and many of them read almost the same. Second, there is a long tail of buyer feedback, and that feedback is more mixed than the sales page suggests. This review sets out what the vendor says you get, what the checkout actually charges, how the refund works, and the patterns that show up in public buyer feedback. Nook21 has not bought or used the product; everything here comes from the vendor's own pages, the ClickBank checkout page and public reviews.

If you are still deciding what kind of projects you want to build, our woodworking projects for beginners guide is a better first stop than any plan package. It will help you judge whether a library this large is what you need.

What's inside, according to the vendor

The sales page breaks the library into broad groups and gives an approximate count for each. As of our last check, the vendor lists roughly:

Category (vendor's grouping)Approximate plans claimed
Furniture2,650+
Outdoor and garden2,150+
Workshop and tools1,850+
Buildings and shelters1,700+
Home decor1,650+
Specialty and other1,500+
Storage and organization1,400+
Kitchen and dining1,250+
Kids and recreation1,100+
Animal and pet800+

These numbers are the vendor's claims. We could not count the library, and some buyers argue that a large share of the total is made up of close variations of the same design rather than distinct projects. Treat the 16,000 figure as a marketing number, not a promise of 16,000 unique builds.

Bonuses listed on the sales page

  • A DWG/CAD plan viewer, so you can open the DWG versions of plans without buying CAD software.
  • A set of woodworking videos (the vendor says over 150).
  • A guide to starting a woodworking business. This is a general guide. Nook21 makes no claim that it leads to any income.
  • A collection of woodworking guides described as more than 200 pages.
  • New plans added monthly, according to the vendor.
  • One custom plan request, which the vendor says you can use to ask for a plan that isn't in the library. We could not confirm how long these take or what limits apply.

Format

The support page says plans come as PDF files, and many also come as DWG files. Most plans are said to include both imperial and metric measurements, and a unit converter is included for the ones that are imperial only. You need a PDF reader to open the PDFs and the bundled viewer for the DWG files. The vendor says the members area works on computers, phones and tablets, but its own troubleshooting notes suggest using a computer if you have trouble logging in on a phone.

The sales page also mentions an option to have the material shipped on DVDs or a USB drive for an extra fee, and the support page mentions a two-DVD edition for gifts. We could not find a price for the physical option on any vendor page, and one line on the sales page says there is no shipping, which conflicts with the physical option. If you want a disc or USB copy, confirm the cost and availability with support before you order.

How it works and getting access

The buying process is the standard ClickBank flow. You click through to the vendor's sales page, then to a ClickBank-hosted checkout. The vendor's support page says it accepts payment by credit card or PayPal only, online, and that it does not take checks or phone orders. Plans can't be bought one at a time.

After payment you are taken to a members page, and a welcome email with your login details is sent to the address you used at checkout. The vendor says access is lifetime. If you lose your login, the members area has a password reset that sends a link to that same email address. Several of the access complaints we found online come down to a missed welcome email, so check your spam folder first and save your ClickBank receipt, since it contains your order number.

Once inside, you search or browse by category, open the plan, and download or print it. Because the library is so large, how good the search is matters more than usual. Some buyers say finding a specific plan takes more digging than they expected. It helps to arrive with a short list of projects in mind rather than browsing without a goal.

Pricing and what you actually pay

When we checked the ClickBank checkout page on October 9, 2026, the main product was listed at $67.00, with $0.00 tax shown at that stage. The checkout showed a single charge and no recurring billing language, though it did not explicitly use the words "one-time."

The vendor's pages are less consistent about what happens next:

  • The sales page describes $67 as a discounted lifetime price. On October 9, 2026 it said the standard membership "is now" $39 per month and that the vendor has begun moving to it, yet no monthly option was offered at checkout. Older vendor pages say the change is coming "soon".
  • The support page says the price will rise to $297 after a launch promotion.
  • The countdown wording on the sales page appears to be a template with no real end date.

We could not confirm when, or whether, either of those price changes will happen. The practical advice is simple: read the checkout page before you pay, and make sure the total and billing terms match what you expect. If you see monthly billing language there, you are looking at a subscription, not the one-time offer.

Optional add-ons at checkout

The checkout page also offered three optional add-ons. They were not included in the $67 total:

Add-onPrice shown
Guide to making and using jigs, fixtures and setups$14.95
Guide to hand tools, techniques and projects$9.95
Log home plan book (120 plans)$7.95

If you tick all three, your total comes to $99.85 before any shipping fees for physical copies. Some public complaints mention unexpected charges and repeated upgrade offers. Unticking add-ons you don't want, and checking your final total, avoids most of that.

Offers after checkout

Like most ClickBank products, Ted's Woodworking shows further optional offers after you pay. The vendor's affiliate page lists this sequence, which can change because the vendor split-tests it:

StepPrice listed by the vendorBilling
Main library$67One payment
First upgrade offer$49One payment, optional
Second upgrade offer$39.95One payment, optional
Lower-priced alternative if you decline$27One payment, optional
Third upgrade offer$39.97One payment, optional
Membership offer$27 per monthRecurring, optional

None of these are required to get the plan library. Each screen has a decline link; read it before clicking. A few Trustpilot reviewers also describe a later "legacy fee" to keep members-area access. We could not verify that fee, so check your ClickBank receipt for every line item, and see our refund guide if something appears that you did not choose.

The sales page puts the total "value" of the package far above the price, but the line items it lists don't add up to the total it states. We'd ignore the value figures and judge the product on the $67 you actually pay.

Refund policy explained

The vendor advertises a 60-day money-back guarantee. The sales page says you request a refund by contacting the seller and that refunds are processed within about 48 hours. Its wording is a little contradictory: it frames the guarantee as conditional on whether you find the library complete enough, and also calls it "no questions asked." The support page simply calls it a full 60-day guarantee, and the vendor's terms of use don't cover refunds at all.

Separately, the ClickBank checkout page links to ClickBank's own return policy and states a return or replacement window of up to 180 days from purchase. Because ClickBank is the retailer of record, you can also request a refund through ClickBank's customer support at clkbank.com using your order number.

Our suggestion is to plan around the shorter 60-day window. If you decide within the first few weeks that the plans aren't what you need, ask for the refund through ClickBank (clkbank.com) and keep the confirmation email. Some buyers report slow or missing replies when they contacted the vendor directly about refunds. Going through ClickBank gives you a record and a second route if that happens.

What buyers say

We looked for independent feedback on review platforms, forums and community sites. Two caveats first. A large share of the search results for this product are affiliate pages, press-release style articles and uploaded documents that look like SEO spam, and we gave those no weight. And the independent sample is small. The Trustpilot profile we found had around a dozen reviews, was unclaimed by the company, and is not a large enough sample to represent all buyers. With that in mind, these were the recurring patterns.

Common positives

  • Breadth. Buyers who are happy with the product usually point to the number of project types available in one place, from small shop jigs to sheds and outdoor furniture.
  • Starting point for beginners. Some buyers describe the plans as a reasonable starting point for simple projects, especially if they already have basic skills.
  • Price compared with buying plans one at a time. If even a few plans turn out to be useful, the one-time price works out cheaply per plan.

Common complaints

  • Uneven plan quality. This is the most frequent theme. Buyers say some plans are detailed and clear, while others are sketchy, outdated, missing measurements, or assume knowledge a beginner won't have.
  • Plan count. Several buyers feel the advertised number is inflated, with many near-duplicates.
  • Where the plans come from. Some reviewers say a share of the material appears to come from older books or freely available sources. We could not verify this.
  • Navigation. A recurring complaint is that the members area is hard to search for a specific plan.
  • Refunds and support. A number of reviewers say vendor support was slow to answer refund or access requests. One reviewer said access was restored, but only after several emails.
  • Upsells and expectations. Some buyers object to add-on offers and say they expected a physical product when the default delivery is digital.

Taken together, the pattern is consistent. The package is broad and cheap, but the quality is uneven and the marketing promises more than buyers say they get. If you go in expecting a large, variable reference library rather than 16,000 polished blueprints, you are less likely to be disappointed.

Is Ted's Woodworking legit? The evidence

Short answer: it is a real, paid digital product, sold through ClickBank for more than ten years, and ClickBank handles payment and refunds. The marketing, however, makes claims that independent sources have questioned for years. Here is what we found, with dates:

Our reading: legit in the sense that you get a large plan library and a working refund route, but treat the plan count, the creator story and the urgency claims as marketing. Judge it on the plans you open in the first weeks, while the 60-day window is open.

Searching for a free download of the full library will mostly turn up copies of unknown origin, which can carry malware. The vendor does offer a legitimate free sample (50 plans and a long guide) in exchange for an email address, and our Ted's Woodworking vs free plans guide lists reliable free plan sources.

How it compares

Ted's Woodworking competes on size. The other ClickBank woodworking products we cover are narrower:

  • Ana White and other free plan sites. Ana White's site publishes hundreds of free furniture plans with cut lists and step photos, and is a frequent recommendation in beginner forums. Instructables, Kreg's project library and Woodcraft also publish free plans. Quality per plan is often higher than a bulk library, but the range is narrower.
  • Paid single plans. Magazines and retailers such as Woodsmith and Rockler sell individual plans, usually a few dollars to around $20 each. If you need two or three specific, well-tested projects, buying them one at a time can beat a bulk library on quality.

Free alternatives are worth mentioning as well. Many hobby sites, public library books and manufacturer websites publish free, well-drawn plans for common beginner projects such as benches, shelves, planters and workbenches. If you only need a handful of plans, free sources may cover you. A large paid library mainly makes sense if you build often and want one place to browse ideas. For a project-by-project breakdown, read Ted's Woodworking vs free plans. You can see all our woodworking coverage on the woodworking category page.

Our take

Ted's Woodworking is best understood as a large, low-cost idea library with uneven quality, not a curated set of professional blueprints. At $67 at checkout when we checked, with a 60-day refund window and a ClickBank-backed return process, the financial risk is limited if you check carefully within the refund window.

It suits people who build regularly, can read a plan critically, and are comfortable filling gaps in measurements or cut lists themselves. It is a weaker fit for complete beginners who need every step spelled out, for anyone who wants one specific project done well (a focused plan set is usually better there), and for anyone who dislikes checkout add-ons and uncertain pricing.

If you buy, a few simple steps protect you. Untick add-ons you don't want. Confirm the checkout shows a single charge and no monthly billing. Save your ClickBank receipt. Within the first few weeks, open several plans for projects you actually intend to build. If they don't meet your standard, request a refund through ClickBank well inside the 60 days. Our step-by-step refund guide shows how.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ted's Woodworking legit?

It is a real digital product sold through ClickBank for more than ten years, and ClickBank processes payments and refunds. Independent sources have questioned the marketing: a 2014 forum count found roughly 2,500 distinct plans rather than 16,000, and Trustpilot showed 2.0 out of 5 from 12 reviews in October 2026. Treat it as a large plan library of uneven quality, not 16,000 polished blueprints.

How much does Ted's Woodworking cost?

The ClickBank checkout showed $67.00 when we checked on October 9, 2026, with three optional add-ons priced from $7.95 to $14.95. The vendor says pricing may change, so check the current price and billing terms on the checkout page.

Is Ted's Woodworking a one-time payment or a subscription?

The checkout we saw on October 9, 2026 showed a single $67 charge. The sales page says the standard price is $39 per month, but no monthly option was offered at checkout. After purchase, an optional $27-per-month membership may be offered; you only pay it if you accept it.

What is the Ted's Woodworking refund policy?

The vendor advertises a 60-day money-back guarantee. Because ClickBank is the retailer, request the refund through ClickBank customer support at clkbank.com with your order number and email address. Each add-on or upsell is a separate line item, so list every one you want refunded.

How do I access the plans after buying?

After checkout you are taken to a members area, and login details are emailed to your checkout address. Plans can be viewed, downloaded as PDF (many also as DWG) and printed. If the email is missing, check spam or use the password reset.

Can I get Ted's Woodworking on DVD?

The vendor mentions an optional DVD or USB copy for an additional fee, plus a two-DVD gift edition, but no price was listed. Confirm with vendor support before ordering.

Is Ted's Woodworking good for beginners?

Some beginners find it a useful source of ideas, but buyers report that many plans skip details or assume prior experience. Beginners may do better starting with a few simple, well-documented projects.

Ted's Woodworking vs My Shed Plans: which is better?

Ted's Woodworking is a broad library covering many project types. My Shed Plans focuses on sheds and outbuildings. If a shed is your main goal, the focused package is usually easier to use. See our side-by-side comparison.

Are the plans in metric?

The vendor says most plans include both imperial and metric measurements, and that a unit converter is included for imperial-only plans.

Is there a free download of Ted's Woodworking?

No legitimate free copy of the full library exists. Files offered as free downloads come from unknown sources and can carry malware. The vendor offers a free sample of 50 plans and a guide in exchange for an email address, and many good free plans are available from sites such as Ana White and Instructables.

Does Ted's Woodworking have upsells?

Yes. The checkout offers three optional add-ons ($7.95 to $14.95), and after payment the vendor shows further optional offers listed at $27 to $49 plus a $27 monthly membership. None are required to access the plan library.

Who is Ted McGrath?

The vendor presents Ted "Woody" McGrath as a woodworker and teacher with 25+ years of experience. We could not verify those credentials, and a 2023 ToolGuyd article reported that the photo used appears to be a stock image.
